While working for one of the largest corporations on the planet, SBC/AT&T, Kenny realized he was living and working during a historical time of remarkable transformation.

Driven by his immersion in emerging technologies, he saw a future business world that would become more driven by a business model much different than the corporate giant, AT&T. The new emerging business model would be driven by companies that were smaller, more nimble, collaborative, could be located anywhere and would provide a solution to business problems not developed by traditional methods, such as a cross-functional team, a multi-disciplined committee, or an empowered team.

When Kenny retired from SBC/AT&T, he formed Platinum Consulting and has developed a successful, solution-based consulting practice that has helped many clients in the last 8 years. He specializes in the analysis of business problems from a procurement view; however, his engineering experience provides a practical perspective, as well. Additionally, Kenny will engage the extensive network of other partners and resource experts he knows to provide the solution components he needs to ensure a total solution for your business problem.

Kenny recognized the emerging trend companies were facing when they had a non-reoccurring complex business issue with which to deal. These situations typically involved a purchase of a product or service that would be strategic to the procuring company, wasn't something that they would typically procure, but was perceived as the latest "high visibility" project.

The business problem that these companies had was a lack of internal resources with the expertise in the particular area, plus their employees already had full time jobs. Nevertheless, company after company would tap their best and brightest to work on these high visibility projects.

The best practice companies began to realize they could realize productivity benefits by outsourcing non-core business functions. This included the occasional high visibility project. That is not to say these companies would completely turn over a strategic project to outside experts, but they would rely heavily on the collective expertise of the specialists.

Kenny has helped various companies with the following business issues and/or problems:

  • Development of their "Go to Market" plans.
  • Development of a business analytics tool that will allow a business to model these high price, high visibility and complex product and/or service projects.
  • Crafting and supporting the execution of the procurement strategies for these intermittent, yet critical projects.
